Ever noticed that the cold & flu season tends to run in tandem with our busy holiday season where we often take on too much, sleep too little, and eat irregularly?
Here are 5 ways to boost immunity this holiday season to keep you from missing out on the fun!
1️⃣ add 1 inch sliced organic ginger to your morning warm lemon water. Lemon is high in vitamin c & supports the liver detox pathways. & ginger is an amazing herb for boosting immunity & warming the body to promote healthy blood flow.
2️⃣ Have vitamin c-rich foods in the rotation on the regular - Organic Foods like broccoli, dark leafy greens, citrus fruits, blueberries, strawberries, brussel sprouts, & tomatoes are great sources.
3️⃣ Meditate. Stress lowers immunity. It’s not about getting rid of stress it’s about how you PERCEIVE it. Meditation allows you to be more steady when stressed so it doesn’t have as negative of an impact on you. Start small with 2-5 minutes a day.
4️⃣ Focus on your gut - About 70% of your immune system lives in your gut. A high-quality probiotic (I take Just Thrive daily!), eliminating refined sugar, & increasing your fiber are all great places to get started.
5️⃣ Don’t skimp on your sleep - with the busy season with holiday parties and family visiting in town, its easy to want to stay up late and push off catching up on sleep for later. But your immune system gets compromised when you don’t sleep, not allowing your body time to rest and repair. Cortisol stays higher when you don't sleep - & high cortisol leads to many other issues!
Bonus: I'm a big believer that supplements are tools to help you bridge the gaps to support your health. Some of my go-to's include:
