Chili is a staple in my house during the cooler months and I keep it in both the freezer and the fridge because Its one of those meals that is just easy to grab and heat up when you need a protein and fiber-packed meal that warms you up from the inside!
The greatest thing about the crockpot is you dump in all in and then leave it for hours... whats not to love?!
So really easy, let's start with your ingredients:
2 cans Black beans
2 cans Kidney beans
1 can White beans
1 can Pinto beans
1 can unsweetened corn
Tomato paste
Crushed tomatoes (64oz)
Ground beef (2 pounds)
Bone broth, 1-1.5 cups
Favorite Chili Seasoning (individuals or you can use a packet of pre-mixed seasonings)
Optional:
Green Onions
Avocado
Cheese / Nutritional Yeast
Greek Yogurt
Fritos / Corn chips
What to do:
Start by browning your ground beef in a pan on the stove at medium heat.
Add your ground beef, beans, tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, and bone broth into the crockpot. Sprinkle in your seasoning and stir together.
Put on Low and cook for 4-6 hours stirring occasionally.
When it comes time to eat you can dump it into a bowl and top with your favorite toppings! I love all the listed about items.
These are also ways that you can level up your chili when you get bored of having the same thing. Chips or Fritos give it a crunch, greek yogurt and avocado add some more protein and creaminess, And nutritional yeast add a ton of b-vitamins.
Pro tip: Add leftover chili to some chips and call it nachos if you are looking for a more casual way to eat them! Also family friends and easy to incorporate into events and nights with friends.
